We want to offer to all interested people (no matter if already experienced in education, teachers or newbies) an insight into Global Learning and the role as an education practitioner. Accompanied by methods and didactics we want to open up the ecological and social dimensions of sustainability and (inter)relationships between postcolonialism, flight and migration.

Dates:

1. The role as an educator in Global Learning – in cooperation with ENS

Which position and impact do we take when imparting Education for Sustainable Development? What is my legitimacy? Why may I, why shall I and why do I want to convey these topics to others or introduce them in classes? Which quality criteria exist and what shall I be conscious of in order to meet them? What shall I be mindful of to prevent pitfalls and reproduction of stereotypes? How do I handle troubles, interruptions and challenges? How can I carry out my event competently and purposefully?

This event is taking place in cooperation with Entwicklungspolitisches Netzwerk Sachsen e.V. (ENS). ENS is a coalition of groups, initiatives and associations that advocates for a future-compliant development and worldwide justice. More information here

4. Finite growth – methods for the ecological dimensions

In this training course we want to elaborate on the relations between the ecological and economic dimensions of sustainability. How does economic growth correlate with the consumption of natural resources? How can a transformation from a society – dependent on economic growth – towards a post-growth society look like? And which impact do we all have on this transformation? We will try out methods on the topic of economic growth and post-growth possibilities, followed by a critical evaluation. Furthermore we want to examine how complex topics can be portrayed comprehensively and how subject matters can be adjusted according to different age groups.
